Choosing an app for your club comes down to what you need to manage: one team’s RSVPs, or a whole club’s members, fees, coaches and kit. We compared the apps European clubs use most, and every fact about each app comes from that app’s own website or help centre.

It depends on what your club needs to manage. For a single team, Spond and Heja are strong free choices. For a UK club that wants a website, Pitchero fits well, and Irish clubs running a lotto often choose ClubZap or Clubforce. Spond is free to use and earns a fee when a club collects money. SportMember’s Basic plan is free per member, Heja has an ad-supported free version, TeamApp is free and funded by in-app advertising, and BenchApp and Pitchero have free plans for a single team. According to each app’s own pages, Medalyst stores data on European servers, Spond keeps its data in Dublin and Frankfurt, SportMember stores data in the EU, ClubZap keeps personal data within the EEA, and Heja processes data within the EU/EEA. Pitchero uses AWS in Ireland and the USA, Clubforce may store data inside or outside the EEA, and TeamSnap and TeamApp rely on providers in the United States.

Use an app with an equipment inventory. In Medalyst, the club records every item it owns with a stock count and a storage location, then hands kit out to a whole team or to selected athletes in a few clicks. Each athlete confirms the pickup in the mobile app, and the club sees available, issued and due back items in one view. Yes. In Medalyst, coaches write down what each child worked on and how they are developing, straight after the session, and share the note with the team or privately with the parents.
